Pondering

Pondering the fact that I need to do something about this planter crammed full of narcissi - and remove it from squirrel and pigeon vision.

Also pondering histograms.  Wow! Heavy stuff!  A question for the less technologically challenged: As a rule of thumb, would you concentrate more on the aperture for a stationary object (flower planter) and more on the shutter speed for a moving object?  I know that if you alter one you'll probably have to alter the other.
