It is Friday

With Norman away it was my job to arrange the tables & chairs, light and arrange the candles on the tables and set up the raffle and of course make sure that the beer was ok!!
To get to paint I realised that my first job was to delegate - Peter & Jill took on the raffle and David Currington introduced the band!
After last week's over ambitous efforts I decided to focus on one and that was Geoff Bartholomew and his trumpet.  This was Paul Palmer's Quintet including Geoff, Jack Davies on drums, Jon Moore on guitar and Steve Simpson on bass.
There is some interest in publishing a book of these sketches with brief info on each!  There is about 250 sketches over the 6 years.  From a meeting with a designer the first task is to be clear on why I would do this - Its really about the jazz players, the venue and the following over 15 years together with my immense enjoyment of sketching them - that 's a start!!
