Early Bird Diner

‘Er excuse me my man! The menu here seems a trifle small and dare I say it limited?’

‘Don’t worry sir, I  am seeing to our signature dish as we speak!’ 


AT RSPB Otmoor this afternoon and what a wonderful murmuration show of starlings as the sun set over the reed beds. However the whole scenario here had me and other bird watchers transfixed as the outcome looked very dodgy for the blue tits, the squirrel (there were 2) , and the sparrow hawk - each in turn eyeing up their afternoon snack! The squirrels in fact were left unmolested, the sparrow hawk didn't bat an eye and the blue tits well didn't like going near the feeder for obvious reasons. Personally, I don't think it could have been ravenous!
