Gardens between houses
My cousin Sheri and I made the 2 hour drive to Charleston to just walk and visit the city. She had been here before so we really just spent the whole afternoon meandering along the streets, looking in art galleries and "souvenir" shops equally. We had a great late lunch, I had blackened grouper and she had salmon but the highlight was when we decided to eat dessert for supper about 5:30..a huge piece of dark chocolate cake with raspberry filling for me and pecan pie with ice cream for her..followed by some good coffee. Then we stopped at her niece and nephew's home on the way back..staying longer than we really planned as they have a 2 year old who was just so happy to have visitors to play with..way past his bedtime. We finally got home around midnight which is why this blip is a day late posting.
Charleston is a city of tall narrow houses with small gardens just like this. We did see some flowers blooming but it is still a little early for the lushness that happens in late spring here at the coast.
I think we might finally make it to the winery today!
