Smokey 1753 hr (Wednesday 15th February 2017)

As I intimated on the previous blip, I was ready and waiting with my Lumix compact in the study the next day so when Smokey was settled on the little table I was able to crouch in front of him and get a couple of macro shots without disturbing him too much.

Lozarhythm of the Day:
The Pretenders - Tequila (recorded 1983)
This song, written circa 1976, was one of the first that Chrissie Hynde and Pete Farndon worked on together, and was demoed for the Pretenders' debut album in April 1978, before Martin Chambers became their drummer. The song didn't appear officially until 1994 when a one-verse fragment appeared on the album The Last Of The Independents, and then in 1995 a live acoustic version from the Isle Of View  concerts appeared on a limited edition EP of the 2,000 Miles live single.
The version here was recorded in 1983 for the album Learning To Crawl but was again omitted from the released version. It was added as a bonus track to a re-issue in 2006, and on the second disc of the later 2CD re-issue of that album in the box set that I was listening to on this day.
I suspect that it is a song that means a lot personally to Chrissie Hynde.
