I collected this Golden Cowrie shell from a coral reef in Fiji over 45 years ago.
The Golden Cowrie Lyncina aurantium quite a rare species and has been used as currency throughout the South Pacific. In the Fijis, they were worn by chiefs as a symbol of status and rank.
