Changing slowly...

It almost goes against the grain not to moan about the council. However, this leaflet describes changes that include reducing the weekly general rubbish collection to fortnightly. You might think "bad thing"! But stopping to reflect - the amount of rubbish that now goes into our green bin is a fraction of what it was ten years ago. This is due to composter provided for the garden, food bin collected weekly, blue bin for bottles and tins, blue bag for paper, red bin for cardboard, brown bin for garden refuse, and a new bag for plastics.

What has happened, it seems, is that we are recycling things at a massively increased rate. It has happened quite slowly and subtly, but it has happened. So (gritting teeth) well done City Council!.
