Floating on a Bed of Green

It was cool morning with a little cloud and a cold easterly wind. As the day went on the winds picked up and they sure were cold.

Last night the fires were really out of control. You could see flumes shooting up into the air. By the late this morning the fires were more contained. 11 Christchurch homes and two sheds have been destroyed by the fire, which has spread to around 1850ha of land. Here is the latest news on the fires.

Luckily with the wind blowing from the east, the smoke wasn't over the city today. First thing I could smell it and my asthma wasn't very good.
