This is the book of the excellent exhibition of paintings of Kingston. Lovely book. 


The answer to yesterday's extra question - "boat knees", brackets used in medieval times in boat-building to strengthen the boat. They were naturally curved pieces of oak. These were found during excavations prior to building the John Lewis building near the river.
