Coffee and company
We drove down to Bristol today, via the A46, to see Pip and Mary, who have not long returned from Sri Lanka. They both looked well, and it was great to compare notes and memories of our respective visits.
They gave us lunch, and Baklavas from their local Turkish pastry shop, Bristanbul. It would have been rude to refuse, so I relaxed my sugar ban for harmony's sake...
Then we came back, listening to The Silver Sword on cassette. We play audio books in the car, because the CD player is in the boot. So good to hear this powerful story again, last heard when read to me in RE class in 1975 by Sister Farquharson. Her taste worsened over the decade: a few years later we were made to listen to Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
If anyone still has any good books on cassette, please get in touch. ...
