A time to remember

I went for an 8km walk in the forest this morning with Louis and my friend - the Foret de Soignes starts just south of Brussles and stretches for miles.

I remembered about the Grotte de Notre Dame just on the edge of the forest, so took my friend to show her. It's adjoining a retreat called Notre-Dame de la Justice and is beautiful. These Grottos are apparently where apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes have taken place.

People go there to remember their loved ones and some place placques and photos on the walls. There are also candles which you can light - unfortunately I didn't have any money with me, but I will light one for Dad the next time I'm passing.

It was a lovely morning with the sun shining through the trees and I took lots of photos including one of the lake with beautiful reflections, but I particularly like this one of the lady sat praying at the Grotto.
