Carnival and carpets

Two of my most recent purchases... a very lovely 'arty book' about shops, cafes, and stories about Basel. What I like is that it is trilingual, so I'm trying to read the German first. A few gems in there I am going to discover.
It is resting on my rug purchased at the flea market on Saturday. I was a little apprehensive at first, as wasn't sure the ethnic design would go with my arts and crafts style deco, but it seems pretty good. I still have to make the curtains!
Only two more boxes labeled 'random stuff' left to unpack... it is now almost feeling like home.
