Cool genes

The workshops 'Improv(e) your science communication' that I am giving truly are some of the highlights of my work. I love it! We worked on the use of metaphors today - here's one of the students explaining 'horizontal gene transfer' with the use of sunglasses (This is the behavior that bacteria can pass genes to one another, which allow them to do something they previously could not. As if someone would give you sunglasses that would also make you cool all of a sudden).
