Swanage & Supper

Lovely bracing walk on the coast at Swanage followed by gorgeous supper at The Worlds End Inn located on the A31 between Poole & Dorchester.

The land that the Worlds End stands on has been welcoming weary travellers for hundreds of years, though in the last century it was so named for soldiers, airmen and conscripts that last stopped there before being deployed during WW2.

The World's End in Almer was at one time believed to be the oldest pub in Dorset; sadly it was destroyed by fire in 1991 and was raised to the ground and rebuilt soon after. The pub was refurbished by Hall and Woodhouse in 2015 and is decorated in tribute to those who gave their service, both abroad and on the Homefront during the Second World War.

It has a lovely open fireplace, weathered flagstones and exposed beams. Many of the features were constructed using original materials salvaged from the fire.
