Holle Weg

I've enjoyed a hectic, productive and highly enjoyable day in the company of the project team in the Limburg region of the Netherlands. The morning was spent at the hospital in Maastricht and the afternoon here at the hotel beginning to solve some of the technical problems and describing the work packages for this new Sexual Health System. We've worked hard but had fun too. These are a great and lively bunch of people.

We closed business promptly at 6pm so we could enjoy a walk before dinner. It was a lovely warm evening. I can duly confirm that the Netherlands does indeed have hills, but it wasn't that easy to capture a sense of this with a good photograph. I took this shot looking back down an ancient sunken path through some woods, although shortly afterwards it was pointed out to be that this path is actually in Belgium!

We're very close to the border here. I'm getting highly confused by the close proximity of different countries in this narrow strip of territory, with Belgium and Germany just a few miles away on either side. Apparently the Dutch spoken here might be more easily understood by a German than a Hollander!
