Hot and dry

The valley is looking very dry now.
It's been very hot again, but not as bad as Australia. I feel for everyone over there. I could not stand those sort of temperatures, 40 degrees plus is ridiculous!

I took the dogs for an early walk this morning. Then went into Hagley park to meet up with a friend for a walk around there, thought it would be cooler under the trees.
Managed to do 5 kms, my feet are feeling it now!
There was a large group of people walking too, more than 100. I asked a guy what they were walking for, thought it might be a charity thing . He told me that they were Mainly workers from the Phillipines over here to help rebuild Christchurch, and that theit boss ( a big company) had organized the morning for them. I think they were having a picnic etc afterwards. I have noticed the Philipino workers around town, they are always smiling. They must work hard and send a lot of their wages home to their families,
