Morning walk

My god, today was cold!  We've been fine all week, but it was pretty darn bitter today.  Regardless, after a night of little sleep (thanks to the baby, who spent most of the night in our bed), we wrapped up warm and braved the outdoor world for a trip to one of the local lakes that handily has a cafe and car park.  Our reward was to be a hot chocolate after our walk around the lake. Of course, we didn't end up having the hot chocolate - muddy footwear, tired and hungry children - we hot-footed it back home for home made pizza.  

This evening I braved another Julia Child recipe and there is a chocolate cake just out of the oven, hopefully the work put in whisking egg whites and beating egg yolks and sugar together will pay off - tomorrow will tell.....
