Queen of flowers

I wish I could say I grew this fabulous strelitzia but alas, I can't claim the credit for it. It belongs to my friend M and she has waited ten years for her plant to flower after she was given a cutting by her nextdoor neighbour. She is so thrilled about it and I can understand why. The plant stands about five foot high in her sitting room which is not particularly warm during the day and doesn't get a lot of light. She says it is planted in a John Innes compost.  

For the record: Damp and dreary but this plant lit up the day. Max 2C
