Since the bathroom work is starting next week, we decided we'd better knock out this weird wooden frame on the other side of the stud wall... it's in what will eventually be our bedroom and we planned to deal with it after the bathroom was done, but were concerned it may disturb the new tiles. Kind of a good job we did, as it would appear that the 'stud' wall is actually breeze block and the wooden frame was concealing a big hole. I'm guessing that when the room was separated to create a bathroom indoors, a frosted window was added to bring light into what was a windowless bathroom (a window was later added). Not entirely sure what our bathroom guy is going to do with this!
