On a mission to find a Holy Well...

...in South Yorkshire...on a manky murky day...
This is St James' Well, Midhopestones - amazing only a few miles from where we live! The signs were erected by Bradfield Parish Council when they refurbished the area in 1971. Despite the algally green look of the water there is a blessing service every year - but the water is only used to bless the well, not for human consumption...
Strangely, John wasn't keen to brave the rickety steps and surrounding mud in order to get a better view of the well itself ( see extras )  ;)
