Cold 2

A desperately cold day, we wrapped up warm and went for a brisk walk on the beach.
The frost was severe last night and parts of the beach that hadn't seen the sun was still covered.

There were a few out walking with dogs and children and a couple of horses racing up and down having a great time.

Visited Mike's mum and had some lovely hot homemade sausage rolls before going home and having leftover turkey pie, roast potatoes and peas. Yummy.

Turkey Pie Recipe

1lb of turkey cubed
1 tin of Batchelers condensed mushroom soup (or any condensed will be fine
1/4 pint milk
1/4 pint chicken stock
1 table spoon of flour
2 carrots, diced
2 sticks of celery, diced
1 onion minced (I chopped it fine in the blender)
2 oz butter

Saute the carrots, celery and onion in the butter till soft
mix in the flour, stock and milk
fold in the soup and turkey and stir until thickened, add more water if necessary

Line a deep dish with cheese pastry
add the turkey mix
Put on the pastry top

Cook on gas 4 for 45minutes
