Markens gate

I got my bang cut downtown today and did the whole exchange in Norwegian, including the awkward small talk with the hairdresser! *pats self on back* Turned out she was the same one who cut my hair last year, and said she remembered me only speaking English back then, and was impressed with the progress I had made.

I also went looking for scotch bonnet peppers so I could make Jamaican meat patties, but the big asian food mart didn't have any. The man I talked to said that they were trying to get some in but so far hadn't succeeded so I should keep trying back. I saw most of the ingredients I'll need to make dal makhani so I'll be back there for sure.

I took this picture on Markens gate, the main walking/shopping street downtown, just before it rained. I've never seen a string instrument like that!
