Circus
Today we spent one of our last Daddy days (as we know it) as a family on an afternoon trip to the circus. The Moscow State Circus has been in town for a little while now and we thought the little ones would enjoy it, and they did.
After driving around to get Boy to sleep, and then sitting in the car in the rain playing clapping games with Girl, Wife arrived. We woke a grumpy Boy and headed over the common towards the big top. Almost there we had a panic (and a row) as we realised that I had left the ear defenders for Boy at home so I had to race home to get them and managed to get back in time for the show. After our Olympic experience we knew that if the noise got to Boy it could be a quick outing given the lack of corridoors around a big top to wander in.
The strength and acrobatics on display was simply incredible and at times was simply implausable. The little ones were mesmorised by it all and glued to their respective seat and daddy's lap.
At the interval Boy threw a bit of a wobbler basically because he did not want the show to stop. I calmed him down by showing him the stall of flashing tat before returning to our seats for the second half that was just as exceptional as the first. Boy happily exclaimed "Clown" to me as soon as they came back into the ring.
In fact the only down side of the show was that it made me feel incredibly lazy and a bit useless, but then I knew that already really.
