Mr & Mrs Stonechat

Today's weather was better than expected so when L arrived in Elie this morning we went straight to Cambo Estate to see the snowdrops .... about 350 varieties but I certainly didn't see them all.

While the weather was still bright and dry we took a walk through the wood which ends down at the shore. We walked along part of the coastal path towards Kingsbarns and that's where I spotted these two little birds sitting on those very slender branches. I had no idea what they were but I did a quick bit of research on the RSPB bird identifier website and there they were .... Mr & Mrs Stonechat.  

The sky quickly became very dark so we did an about turn and managed to reach the wood before the snow came on.
