After yesterday's musings, today unfolded unremarkably. Nothing broke. No one visited. The chooks laid another egg. There was enough work to keep me occupied, interspersed with more sales calls than I'd like.

I struggle to keep the fire going. Cold presses in on all sides. So I roast beef, potatoes, parsnips and onions, steam sprouts, make gravy. I take a new horseradish sauce off the shelf.

After tea there are more calls to make, to my colleagues who were too busy to speak to me during the day. There are Jah Wobble tickets to give away. There is a new case of wine to sample. There is Angus' gulab jamon to sample. And there is Oldboy to watch.
