Another day of this and that. A cow on calving when I went round to feed them. Two feet but not much else. Had a feel inside , head was there but quite swollen so a quick pull with the calving jack, a mild panic when it stuck at the hips , but a bit of a twist and more traction and out it came. A muckle big heifer calf.
A 10.30 meeting lasted till lunch time then had to go next door to load a trailer with bedding straw we are selling.
Back to milk out this mornings cow and bottle feed the calf , who sucked well despite its head still being swollen.
Thought this electric fence insulator looked worth a photo against the darkening sky tonight ( just before a flurry of snow started ! )
