Yet Another Snowy Day

We were hoping for warmer temperatures and rain today, and for a while it looked as though we'd get our wish, but by this afternoon there was a new onslaught of snow (see extra). 

Phil put the ladder up and popped another suet and seed cake into the high feeder, after noticing the Pileated Woodpecker's polite expression of surprise that it was empty, and I chopped up a second suet and seed cake and put it on a tray under the deck table for the smaller birds.

The corrupt circus continued in our nation's capitol, providing plenty of interesting reading today, so I didn't really mind being snowbound.

Elizabeth Warren was "...the noisiest silent woman of the 24-hour news cycle," said the Washington Post. "An intended humiliation instead turned into a battle cry; an intended silencing instead handed Warren a megaphone and an army." #NeverthelessShePersisted  -- and so will we!

Dr. Bernice King, daughter of Coretta Scott King and Martin Luther King, Jr., spoke out in the US edition of The Guardian. I like her suggestion (see link in article) to assign DJT's actions "to 'The Republican Administration,' or 'The Republicans.' This will have several effects: the Republican legislators will either have to take responsibility for their association with him or stand up for what some of them don't like; he will not get the focus of attention he craves; Republican representatives will become very concerned about their re-elections."

I'm very grateful for the support of so many in this community at this challenging period in my country's history.
