Mister and Missus

I had my eye on the blue heron on the left, when she went into some defensive posturing...complete with some loud cackling.

But, it wasn't posturing at all. It was a "Welcome Home Sweetheart" display. So fun to watch.

For the first time this year, I put up two extras of the same heron pair. The first picture is the biggest display of "feathers a-flyin" that I've ever seen, and the second picture is my version of herons playing leap-frog.
