ROD - MR FIXIT:

A garden this size has an enormous amount of rubbish, what with trimmings, dead heading & a general cleanup. Day by day, it is all put on the trailer & Peter, with the John Deere takes it up to a rubbish heap in the top section. After two years this pile grows a mile high, it is so dry a match would clean it up in 5 minutes, (!) but burning is a NO, NO, so every couple of years Rod comes in with his mulcher & levels it to the ground. This morning was the day ! Note how dry it is.

About 4 years ago it was too much for Peter & he put a match to the heap. Though there was no wind & it was as calm as a millpond, a neighbour on the south side rang the council & within 10 minutes a council inspector arrived & we were read the riot act. We had to put it out IMMEDIATELY, which we did with a nearby hose.

Occasionally Blipper Davesfotos, puts a blip up of burning rubbish in his French garden outside Paris. I am so envious of him. I wish we had French laws !
