Lab rat
For the next week I shall be wearing a three-axis accelerometer to provide data for a study by the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Birmingham. The detailed preliminary questionnaires were fun: yes, I can go to the toilet unaided, and also do not feel anxiety, guilt or irritation when it's raining.
There may be a bit of a spike in the data when the pilot puts the power on for our flight to Rome later in the week. 0-500mph in a minute or three.
I think the little gadget will be tucked up in a suitcase by then: not sure if it's wise to be wearing something like this while shuffling, shoeless, through the scanners.
