If these stones talked!
They would have many's a tale to tell. The large drystane dyke you see was built by my grand mother (my grandfather was in the Merchant Navy ) so she did much of the work round the croft at the time.
The ruined house is where I spent my first 5 years and while sometimes I look back with nostalgia.....it was a hard unforgiving life, no running water (you drew from the well) we did have electricity (courtesey of the Rocket Range) no toilet. Bare walls, a kitchen/living room, one small closet and a bigger bedroom that was it. Thatch roof, millions of eariwigs (still loathe them)
People that speak of the good old days are talking rubbish!
