Chillin' In Verbania

Time to say goodbye to La Griglia and Lake Como and head for Lake Maggiore by way of the car ferry from Laveno-Mombello to Verbania, where we stopped for a wander round. This shop appears to concentrate on soft drug supplies.

We found our accommodation, just outside Stresa (again, up a series of twisty roads but now behind automatic gates) - it's not ideal as it's not 'penthouse suite' but 'attic conversion', with beams at all angles below head height so there's hardly anywhere where to stand upright despite a large floor area and an array of steps in the middle. We do have a terrace but only one place to sit in the shade.

We unpacked as best we could then drove down to the lakeside restaurants for dinner and sat overlooking the lake eating our first pizza of the holiday and phoning my Aunt in England on her 92nd birthday.
