Gormenghast?
An impressive array of chimneys and spires, silhouetted against the afternoon sun, give Burghley House a distinctly sinister aspect, which reminded Pete of Gormenghast.
I had a wonderful walk around the park in glorious sunshine, a surprise after the very wet start to the day. I'm always impressed how much mistletoe can grow in the lime trees without them either dying or being blown over (see extra).
