Craig's Close

Having recently bought my brothers car, I need to get a parking permit as the flat is inside the parking zones, however, without either the RC5 document or the full insurance documents, I was unsuccessful today. I must wait until one of these arrives.
The city council building where they process the applications is on the Royal Mile, and upon leaving I noticed this small plaque which reads "Site of entrance to Craig's close, closed 1932". It was demolished to incorporate and extension to the city chambers. There are likely many more hidden closes that aren't so well marked.
