Ludmilla

Meet my neighbor Ludmilla.

She was born in Chabarowsk, in the far east of Russia in 1938.
In the age of 29 she moved into the western Ukraine with her husband, an army officer. There she worked as a medical doctor.

During the decline of the USSR Ludmilla was persecuted in the Ukraine for being a Russian and a Jew. Because her daughter lived here in Magdeburg since 1986 (with her husband also being an army officer) she could flee from the political persecution and became a immigrant here.

In Magdeburg Ludmilla worked for a short time in the library, nowadays she helps her daughter running a little Russian grocery store. She wants to live here in Magdeburg for the rest of her live and likes the cleanness int this city. But to feel home the people in Germany should be more open and the bureaucracy should be not so harsh.

Ludmilla is also very interested in religion and spirituality. She has a Tarot card game to help her in making decisions. Her cat Max has an extraordinary character. He understands Ludmilla's language quite well and can perform several tricks.
