Butterflies
Mr DawnAgain and I took the day off today and headed over to Wisley to see the butterflies in the glasshouse. We had been once before but I'd forgotten just how hot it is in there (particularly when you're wearing winter clothes) so I spent most of the time sweltering and taking layers off as I went round stalking butterflies that don't stay still for very long. The other problem was the hordes of people - so much for my theory that it would be nice and quiet on a week day! There was the added issue of Mr DawnAgain's lens taking a disproportionate time to acclimatise to the temperature so, while I was working my way round, he was sitting on a bench with another camera geek waiting for his lens to demist. By the time it had, I'd had enough and just had to get out into the cool air so I left him to it and got a cream tea at the cafe.
Afterwards we found a pub for lunch and then dropped in to the church at Witley where there are some wonderful 12th century wall paintings and then headed for home.
I think the butterflies pictured might be mating.
Oh and we saw some redwings in the gardens at Wisley, visiting for the winter.
