Trampled Underfoot

We have some little crocus growing in the lawn, but they got trampled on a couple of days ago, during bike cleaning operations and were lying around broken off. 
I brought one inside thinking I would do a macro shot of the bud. It started to open up when it was brought into the light  , miraculous really, I thought it was pretty much dead!
