Catching the Sun: More mist
Way back when walking to school through the thick fogs, hardly able to see more than a few yards in front. Noticing things that hadn't been noticed before despite having walked the route day after day for what seemed my whole life. A stone lying in a certain way, an ornate gatepost, a road crossing usually crossed unnoticed. A world that didn't exist outside the fog.
I've been reminded of this as I've walked through the morning mists of February. They haven't been pea soupers but they've cast a cover over the familiar landscape and revealed a new world. Yesterday I got 'lost' or at least missed a turn I was trying to find and had a mystical experience. This morning I focused on noticing the missing turn. Paying attention, looking and listening.
