Almonds Awakening

These are the instructions God gave to Moses about the lampstand for the Tabernacle in the wilderness:

"Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out... Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand."  (Exodus 25:31,33)

Amazing that I read this today, and thought about Bezalel and Oholiab going out to look at almond blossom, so they could get it right (or did they just have a good memory? Were there almond trees in the wilderness?)

The other amazing thing is that these "almond flowers with buds and blossoms"  and an almond! are from a tree on the land we're hoping to buy - this one had white blossom; others had pink - no idea what the difference is.

Made up for a day dealing with bureaucracy and sitting at computer going through photos for the exhibition - feel like a zombie...
