Cornish Bowl

At the weekend, Andy and I were looking at various pieces of pottery I have collected over the years.  This is one of my favourite. It is from a pottery in the far west of Cornwall (exact location now forgotten), and I got it about ten years ago when Mum and I spent the week in an old fishing cottage in a tiny little cove at the end of a very narrow windy and steep lane!  I liked the steep sides of the bowl and the colour and textures of the blue glaze.  The glaze on the inside of the bowl is interesting too - speckled like a bird's egg and with tiny little cracks.  Its lovely just to hold this bowl in your hands - it feels smooth and perfect!

Back to work today!  I hope you have all had a good Monday.
