Not the day we had planned!

Our planned 'lie in' this morning was not to be! A phone call from my brother at about 8.30 am ...... Mum had fallen again!

We dragged on clothes, dived in the car & went straight round. Thankfully Mum hadn't badly hurt herself .... just bumped her chin ...... but was shaken up & my brother was at the end of his tether! It is very difficult for him, as he obviously cannot be in the bathroom when Mum is getting washed & dressed  & this is when she has a lot of her falls.

Hopefully though this has a 'silver lining' ..... as Mum has finally agreed (after about a year of us trying!) to have a carer come in the mornings while she is getting washed & dressed. She's not happy about it but it is necessary.

So I 'struck while the iron was hot' so to speak & contacted somebody I know who does this. There is a meeting scheduled for Monday afternoon to finalise the details.

We did manage a short walk later in the afternoon ...... we nipped to the little Country Park nearby ..... saw a Wren, Goldcrest, Robins, Goldfinches & this lovely female Blackbird who posed beautifully for her portrait ..... hope you like it :-)
