A hard frost

Discussion Group this morning was depressing, discussing populism in politics.

We also found out that our GP practice has sold out to the healthcare trust, and is now taken over by it, and that they are in favour of our hospital being closed. They are going to use it as their practice HQ. The doctors who supported the hospital being kept open were the retired old ones whose philosophy of health care is 'not for profit'.

To make me even crosser, I called to ask for an appointment as I have what could be an eye infection. I was told to go to the pharmacist and buy some drops. I said I was not happy about self-diagnosis and self-medication on something as important as my eyes, having had several eye-sight problems. That cut no ice. So I've got some drops bought over the counter.

We're doomed Captain Manneting, we're doomed.

(My blip is of a frozen puddle in the road this morning. Pretty.)
