Happiness is a Hedgerow

Can't quite remember if I have included the finished piece here on Blip. Painting all five hedgerow species took about four weeks.

Using sketches made on location in Essex, I have included Brambles, Dog Rose, Tutsan, Cranesbill and Bittersweet in a composition reminiscent of how they all grow. Dissections of a rose hip and a Tutsan berry added some extra colour and detail. Graphite grasses give the suggestion of the surrounding habitat.

This one has gone down quite well, so will be made into a limited ed print and some postcards on Etsy.
