To my dear friend Alex
Who cannot eat my brownies anymore because you live so far away, across the ocean!
At your request, here's the recipe:
Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
1 cup cocoa, Fry's
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1. Mix all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
2. Melt butter in a saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in Fry's Cocoa. Blend in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
3. Blend in dry ingredients.
4. Pour batter into greased 13X9X2 inch pan. Bake at 350F about 30 minutes. Cool and frost.
Do not over bake them if you want them chewy. Check consistency after 20-25 min. A dense brownie will still have some moist crumbs sticking to the toothpick when it is done. Brownies over baked for even a couple minutes will be much drier.I usually take them out of the oven when the middle is still uncooked. Then I let the brownies cooling thoroughly before cutting (5-10 min).
