Gondolier

Day 3 and still raining but the valiant gondoliers were not to be put off sculling down the Grand Canal. We too were not to be put off - we are Brits after all and used to the deluges of our weather.

We ventured up the campanile on San Georgio in the short window without rain first thing to look out over Venice and especailly St Mark's Square, then after  did a boat trip to Murano on another glass expedition. 

The water soaked through my waterproof coat, jeans, and even my Dubarrys and I think I looked rather like a drowned rat at the end of it all. When asked how our day had been by the concierge I repled through dripping glasses just, 'Wet!!' It had in fact been amazing! :)
