Wet from head to toe

Clumsy me. We strolled along the dike and suddenly the others wanted to continue on the beach. I had to follow but I'm afraid of steep slopes since I broke a vertebra in a fall, years ago. The dyke was very slippery and I felt my feet slipping. To not fall backwards I leaned over and that was the clumsy part. I was trying to stop speed but couldn't. In between the dyke and the beach was a trench one meter wide.
I tumbled from the dike into the trench with my face in the sand.
