wenlock
I was up in London today with Will and Sophie and came across Performer Wenlock on Long Acre.
Not a stunning photo but when I got home I discovered there are 83 Olympic mascots across London.
Wenlock and Mandeville are two alien-like creatures which are supposed to represent two drops of steels and are said to have come from the 'last girders of the Olympic Stadium'. As the mascot of the Olympics, Wenlock is wearing the five coloured rings as bracelets on his arms, with the three points of his head representing each level of the podium. Wenlock gets his name from the Shropshire town of Much Wenlock, which held a mid-19th century forerunner of the current Olympic Games.
off to bed now, sleep well all :)
