Saying Goodbye To Sydney
The alarm went off at 6am which was a bit of a lay in on yesterday; our airport transport was on time at 7am to take us for the 20 minute journey to Sidney airport for our 3 hour flight at 9.40am to Cairns, Queensland.
Luckily I was sat on the correct side of the aeroplane to see our last view of Sidney Harbour. The blipfoto shows the iconic Harbour Bridge and Opera House which is so representative of Australia. Good to see it from the air.
On landing at Cairns it was pouring with rain but our driver was waiting with the board with our name to take us direct to our apartment for the four night stay. He was very chatty and gave us a few tips, easily earning his tip which should buy him an Aussie pint of beer.
Not much to do for the rest of this rainy day except book our barrier Reef trip for Tuesday (the best day according to forecast) and go and buy our large box of wine (cheap) and foodstuffs (exhorbitant even by Aussie standards) for our meals whilst here.
