Buxton Opera House

I make no claims for the photographic quality of this cameraphone snap - it is purely a picture of record.

Anyway, today I travelled from Falkirk to Manchester, and from there on to Buxton. The reason for the Buxton part of the visit was to meet a friend of many years' standing and to go to see The Gondoliers at the Buxton Opera House.

The Buxton Opera House is a beautiful Victorian theatre set in a beautiful Victorian town centre. It is also host to the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival, where people gather from all over the world to enjoy and celebrate the Savoy Operas and their creators.

So, we went to see a thoroughyl enjoyable production of The Gondoliers before I drove my friend back to her house and then drove back to Manchester, ready for the adventure of the NODA Summer School!
