Outfoxed!

A little Yellowhammer keeping an eye on me while I was keeping an eye on her. I was hopeful of catching her in flight but no chance, we gave each other the eye for quite some time and just as I was getting sore arms and my mind wandered she took flight - I was outfoxed!

Sighted on the outskirts of town, one side is housing and the other is rural. I've also seen them at the estuary, down country lanes and in parks. An introduced species which is found widespread throughout New Zealand. 

Too hot to be outside for too long especially this afternoon, 29C with a light breeze, wonderful to have summer return :)
